Privacy Policy: How JPert INC Handles Your Information

We protect other organizations’ data for a living, so we hold ourselves to the same standard. This page explains, in plain language, what jpert.com collects, why, who helps us process it, and how you can reach us about it.

Last updated: November 1, 2026

The short version

  • We collect only what you choose to send us (through our forms) plus basic, anonymous-style analytics about how the site is used.
  • We use it to answer you, follow up about the services you asked about, and improve the site.
  • We never sell your information, and we don’t share it for advertising.
  • A small number of trusted providers help us run the site and our inbox. They are listed below.
  • Email info@jpert.com or call 703-576-8200 to see, correct or delete what we hold about you.

Who we are

jpert.com is run by JPert INC, a managed IT and cybersecurity company. In this policy, “JPert,” “we” and “us” mean JPert INC.

JPert INC
1934 Old Gallows Road, Suite 360
Vienna, VA 22182
Phone: 703-576-8200
Email: info@jpert.com

This policy covers jpert.com only. When we provide IT or security services to a client, how we handle that client’s data is set by our service agreement with them (and, for healthcare clients, a Business Associate Agreement).

What we collect and why

When you fill out our contact form

On the contact page we ask for your first and last name and email (required), and optionally your phone, organization name and type, number of employees and a message. We use this to reply to you, understand your needs and follow up about the services you asked about. The form also includes the “first visit source” described below, so we know how you found us.

When you sign up for our newsletter

The newsletter box on our Chronicles page asks only for your email. We use it to send you our cybersecurity and IT guidance, and it includes the “first visit source” described below. You can ask us to take you off the list at any time.

When you use the HIPAA Security Risk Assessment

You can answer the questions on our HIPAA assessment without giving us anything. If you choose to send us your results, we collect your name, email and (optionally) your practice name, along with your overall score, risk level, the areas that scored weakest and the date. We do not receive your individual answers. Please don’t type patient information into any part of our website; the assessment never asks for it.

When you use the Cyber Safety Checklist

The Cyber Safety Checklist saves your ticked boxes in your own browser so your progress is still there when you come back. That information stays on your device and is never sent to us.

How you found us (“first visit source”)

When you first arrive from another website, an online ad or link tag, or an AI assistant such as ChatGPT, our site saves a short note in your browser’s local storage with the name of that source and the first page you landed on (for example, “ChatGPT, landed on /services/managed-it”). It is kept for up to 90 days in your browser only. It is sent to us only if you submit the contact form, sign up for our newsletter, or request a consultation from the HIPAA assessment, so we know which channels are working. You can remove it at any time by clearing your browser’s site data for jpert.com.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people use the site: which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are located (city or region level), what device and browser they use, which site or AI assistant referred them, and what they do on the site, such as clicks on our phone number, email and assessment buttons, file downloads, clicks on links to other sites, scrolling to the end of a page, and starting or sending a form. Google Analytics sets cookies to tell visits apart. We use these reports to improve our content and do not use them to identify you personally. You can opt out with Google’s opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.

Technical information

Like every website, our hosting provider receives your IP address and basic browser information when you load a page. This is used to deliver the site and protect it from attacks and abuse. We also use Cloudflare’s reports to count visits from automated programs, such as search engine and AI crawlers, so we can see how those services read our site. Those reports show the program’s name and the pages it requested, not who you are.

When you email or call us

If you email or call us, we keep that conversation so we can help you and follow up.

Who helps us process your information

We use a small number of service providers. They process information on our behalf to run the site and our business, not to sell it or market their own products to you.

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a merger or sale of our business (in which case this policy would continue to apply).

What we never do

  • We never sell your personal information.
  • We don’t share it with anyone for their own advertising.
  • We don’t run advertising trackers or retargeting pixels on jpert.com.
  • We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13. Our site is for businesses and nonprofits.

How long we keep it

We keep inquiry and assessment information for as long as it is useful for our business relationship with you, and delete it when you ask us to unless we need to keep it for legal or accounting reasons. Google Analytics data is kept according to the retention setting in our Analytics account. The first visit source stays in your browser for up to 90 days.

How we protect it

The whole site is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections. Our forms send information straight from your browser to the providers above over encrypted connections. Access to our accounts is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we apply the same security practices to our own systems that we recommend to our clients.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you,
  • correct it,
  • delete it,
  • give you a copy, or
  • stop sending you follow-up emails.

Email info@jpert.com or call 703-576-8200. We will respond within 45 days and won’t treat you differently for asking. If we turn down a request, you can ask us to reconsider by replying to our answer.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date at the top.
